In fact, current studies have proven that coffee drinking in moderation can be good for your health.
In part coffee is more than caffeine and yellow teeth. With the chemical make up of coffee, studies have shown new and very and beneficial properties for coffee and health issues. One of the discoveries is the effect in the chemical make up of the dissolvement of Chlorogenic Acid, a property in the chemical make up of coffee. It has been found that Chlorogenic Acid is a strong antioxidant which helps in the reduction of oxidative tissue stress and some anti-inflammatory issues.
It has also been found that coffee drinking can help prevent possible drug addictions and may act as an anti-depressant. An interesting issue of coffee and health is how consumption affects brain functions. Coffee may coincide with anti-drug addiction properties.
Coffee has chem-protective properties that can provide defense against Hepatitis C, Gallstones, Alzheimers Diesease and Parkinson's Disease. It has also been shown to halt the
development of Type 2 Diabetes in the later years of adulthood with a modest amount of coffee consumption on a daily basis. When a person is having an asthma attack and they do not have an inhailer available, the next best thing would be drinking a cup of coffee.

In research of around 126,000 men and women, it was discovered that if people consumed more pure coffee it would reduce the chances of people developing Blood Sugar Disease compared to people who didn't or don't drink as much coffee.
In a study of men and the consumption of coffee, men who drank up to 5 cups a day lowered their chances contracting type 2 diabetes. The benefits for women were somewhat less, but still beneficial.
Previous health and coffee studies showed the average american coffee drinker drank about three cups a day. Research done by Harvard University combined all previous studies to come up with a new average, namely 1 to 2 cups of coffee a day.
Even though in these health and coffee studies of type 2 Diabetes chances were decrease with coffee consumption, researcher's don't recommend increasing your consumption of coffee to try to decrease or prevent the chances of developing diabetes.
More recent research has shown that coffee consumption leads to healthier blood sugar levels. A study of Swedish women showed that drinking at least 2 cups of coffee daily were less at risk for diabetes than women who drank none or less than 2 cups daily. However, researchers have been unable to determine which chemical compound of the hundreds found in coffee actually helped to reduce the risk of diabetes. Coffee consumption reduced the risk for diabetes despite other factors involved such as smoking, drinking and otherwise unhealthy lifestyles.

Research has found that your first cup of coffee in the day could shield you against colon cancer.
In a study by German researchers on an enzyme called Methylpyridinium it was discovered to prevent or protect against colon cancer. Using animals to test this highly potent antioxident researchers found that it excites production of Phase ll Enzyme's which are believed to protect against colon cancer pulpitation's. This is according to a recent magazine article about the relationship between health and coffee. Methylpyridinium is an anticancer compound that is in coffee which has for years been thought to protect against Colon Cancer and now has been identified as doing just that.
A professor at the University of Musnter, an Institute for Food Chemistry has said that until human studies are done we won't know the total effects of coffee on colon cancer development. He also noted that in comparison to medium roast coffees, espresso has 2 to 3 times the amount of cancer fighting agents. Even instant coffee has the same anticancer compounds found in caffeinated and decaffeinated coffees.
Coffee colonics detoxify the liver, as well as cleanse the colon. Some people claim that they provide immediate relief to toxicity symptoms, such as congestion, indigestion, pain and headaches. There are even some small studies that suggest that coffee in enema form can aid in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Coffee CAN Be Healthy
Most studies you will read about today tell how coffee can be harmful to you. But did you know that no other American liquid drink contains more healthy antioxidants than coffee? And did you also know that drinking coffee may reduce the risk of developing of the common type-2 diabetes? And did you also know that coffee drinkers may be far less likely to develop Parkinson's disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and colon cancer?
These findings are all based on studies performed at such prestigious universities as Harvard and Vanderbilt. Other studies have been done in Japan, Canada, Holland, and other countries. Many schools participate in research of all foods, to discover antioxidants and how certain foods may help combat disease. Tea is one food used to a large degree, so it necessarily follows that coffee can also be studied as well. In fact, close to 20,000 studies have been done world-wide for the last several years, on finding the benefits of coffee.
As you can guess, the most closely scrutinized ingredient of coffee is caffeine. Caffeine is used in many over-the-counter medicines today, to help with headaches, asthma, and other ailments. But it has been discovered that caffeine can also help with Parkinson?s disease, for example. Moreover, caffeine derivatives are being tested as drugs to possibly help control Parkinson?s.
Coffee is extremely rich with caffeine, possibly four more times than that of other beverages such as cola or tea. But coffee itself is also laden with antioxidants, according to studies done at Harvard. These studies have also shown that decaf coffee demonstrated a reduced risk to diabetes among normal adults, even a lower risk than tea offers. And coffee with caffeine showed an even higher reduction of risk, compared to decaf. Studies done at the University of Scranton have also shown that coffee contains more antioxidants than the average fruit or vegetable.
Another study was done in Japan that demonstrated that daily coffee drinkers showed a reduced risk of developing liver cancer, by as much as 50%, over those people who never drank coffee. This and most of the other studies showed that drinking three to four cups a day was more effective against these diseases, than drinking one or two cups a day.
So does that mean you can drink five or six cups of coffee and eliminate fruits and vegetables from your diet and therefore become immune to all disease? Of course not. Fruits and veggies overall contain many more vitamins, minerals, and nutrients than coffee, and so should not be neglected from any diet. Also they contain fiber, which is essential for good nutrition. Eat your fruits and veggies.
Also, coffee has the caveat that it can raise your cholesterol, make you nervous, make you tremble, raise your heart rate, clog your arteries, and other problems. And research is still going on to discover the benefits of antioxidants, and with coffee in general.
But for sure, if you drink coffee and it doesn?t affect your life any, then feel free to continue and enjoy your habit. In the long run, it may prove more beneficial than you think.

Coffee: The Big Picture
There's a lot of hoopla online that doesn't necessarily give you the big picture as to what the best coffee for you really is. Well the amount of knowledge that can cover coffee can fill up dozens of volumes of books. This won't surprise connoisseurs of coffee, but for the rest of us here is a very basic tip to enhance your indulgence of this fine drink.
If you buy your own coffee, it's critical that you buy it as fresh as possible. This means you do not want to buy in bulk (unless you are planning to feed a small army) at a time. Buy enough to cover you for the week. That ensures that you drink the freshest coffee possible.
Also one other thing you might want to consider when buying coffee, is to buy a little of each variety of coffee for the week. That way you can not only drink the freshest (and thus truest forms) of the coffee, but this will help develop you palate to become more discerning when it comes to the tastes of coffee.
Why would anyone go through all this trouble you ask? Well the point isn't so you can show off you knowledge to others (which merely a bonus in all this), but you will for the first time open your eyes to what "real" coffee should taste like. And fully appreciate it's evolution and it's history of bewitching mankind's taste buds.
